Bio

Coach David Clark took over the Ohlone College Women’s Basketball program in 2018 and has completed six seasons leading the Renegades. He was named Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2019 after his first year at the helm.

Before joining Ohlone, Clark spent three years as an assistant coach at College of San Mateo, helping develop the program and mentor student-athletes at the community-college level. During that time, he also served as head coach at Oceana High School, where he engineered one of the biggest turnarounds in program history. When Clark took over, the Sharks had won just five games in the previous two seasons; under his leadership, Oceana became a title contender. Over five seasons, he led the program to an 80–44 record, becoming the winningest coach in school history. Clark was named PAL North Coach of the Year in 2016 after guiding the Sharks (24–6) to their first division championship in 25 years.

Prior to his head-coaching career, Clark served as an assistant coach for San Francisco State University’s men’s basketball team. Throughout his career, Clark has emphasized player development, culture, and academic success, with players advancing to compete at the NCAA, NAIA, and other four-year levels.

Clark holds master’s degrees in Psychology, Kinesiology, and Coaching & Exercise Science. He is currently completing a Ph.D. in Performance & Sports Psychology, with a focus on mental health, reflecting his commitment to athlete mindset, motivation, and holistic development.

Clark is a Los Angeles native who graduated from Westchester High School before attending Santa Barbara City College and San Francisco State.
