Ohlone Softball Edges Out Modesto in 5-4 Thriller

FREMONT, CA – In a tightly contested matchup on February 19, 2026, the Ohlone College Renegades secured a narrow 5-4 victory over Modesto, powered by early offensive execution and a resilient complete-game performance in the circle.

Early Lead and Power Surge The Renegades wasted no time, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The offensive spark was led by Jayana Dias, who finished the day a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a double. Camryn Gilbert provided the game's biggest highlight, launching a home run and finishing with two RBIs.

Modesto Mounts a Comeback Modesto chipped away at the lead, scoring runs in the fourth and fifth innings to pull within one. Camryn Mattos and Allie Vincent contributed key RBIs, while Kaliyanei "Kali" Saykao set the tone on the basepaths with three stolen bases.
