OHLONE A HOT SPOT FOR PLAYOFFS

As a reward for a sensational spring, Ohlone College will be an action spot Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 as the baseball and softball teams will host best-of-three game series to open the CCCAA NorCal playoffs.
Here's a look at the matchups:

The No. 5 seeded Ohlone softball team (30-10) will host No. 12 Diablo Valley (24-15). The games are set for 2 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday, followed by a 2 p.m. third game Saturday, if necessary.
The Renegades, headed by coach Julie Marshall, finished second in the Coast Conference-North Division behind state No. 1 College of San Mateo. Diablo Valley took fourth in the Big 8.
Ohlone freshman pitcher Ana Beard (12-6, 1.17), an All State selection and the conference Pitcher of the Year, is No. 3 in the state and first in the conference in ERA. She is also third in the conference in wins and second in strikeouts with 73. Sophomore center fielder Meida Tautalatasi, and All NorCal pick, is third in the conference in both batting average at .448 and stolen bases with 16.
DVC's Julianna Pichardo is ranked tied for 17th in the state with nine home runs. DVC's Sita Manoa has an 18-11 record and has logged 211.2 innings pitched.
