Renegades Start the Season at CCSF Invitational

The Ohlone Swim team opened the 2026 season at the two-day CCSF Rams Invitational in San Francisco on February 6–7.

 

DAY 1- Highlights include the Men's 200 Medley Relay, and swims from Freshman Quinn Rees, Audrey Russel, and Eden Silva.

 

200 Men's Medley Relay: Taking a place in the top 4, the Men's 200 Medley Relay team with Angadjit Deol leading off Backstroke (28.84), Shaan Vaishnav swimming Breaststroke (32.00), Quinn Rees swimming butterfly (24.03), and Denton Phillips anchoring Freestyle (24.25), with a final time of 1:49.12.

 

Quinn Rees - Quinn Rees makes a first place finish in the Men's 50 Fly, touching in 24.22 for a personal best and finishing 0.65 seconds ahead of De Anza. He also placed top 5 in the 50 Free with a time of 22.59, top 6 in the 100 Free with a time of 50.39, top 5 in the 100 IM w/ 56.54, as well as making a second place finish in the 50 Breast with a time of 28.84.

 

Audrey Russel - After a decade-long hiatus from swimming with the Newark Bluefins, Audrey Russel made her debut for the Ohlone swim team, placing top 9 in the Women's 50 Breast with a time of 42.23. She also placed top 11 in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:34.81, top 17 in the 50 Back with a time of 43.32, and top 21 in the 50 Free with a time of 33.86.

 

Eden Silva - Making her collegiate debut, Eden Silva placed top 18 in the 50 Back, with a time of 46.59. She also participated in the 50 Free (36.25), as well as the Women's 200 Medley (B) Relay where she swam Freestyle.

 

DAY 2- Highlights include the Women's 400 Free Relay, and swims from Sophomore Michelle Parra Chavarria, Denton Phillips, and Freshman Jewls Diala.

 

400 Women's Free Relay: Taking place in the top 5, the Women's 400 Free Relay team with Madeline Kuhlmann leading off (1:15.26), Angeline Ho swimming the second leg (1:10.25), Brooklyn Sisk swimming the third leg (1:13.08), and Jewls Diala anchoring (1:06.22), for a final time of 4:44.81.

 

Jewls Diala - Despite losing her cap mid-race, Jewls Diala powered through to place top 19 in the 100 Free with a time of 1:07.16, pulling ahead of Santa Rosa by 0.68 seconds. She also placed top 11 in the 50 Free with a time of 29.55, top 6 in the 50 Breast with a time of 40.42, and top 11 in the 100 IM with a time of 1:17.86.

 

Denton Phillips - Entering his second season with Ohlone, Denton Phillips placed top 12 in the 200 IM with a time of 2:23.17 and top 9 in the 50 Breast with a time of 29.95. He also competed in the 50 Free and 100 IM, in addition to anchoring the Men's 200 Medley Relay.

 

Michelle Parra Chavarria - Starting her second season strong, Michelle Parra Chavaria placed top 8 in the 200 Breast with a time of 3:47.31, swimming a personal best in her first meet back. She also placed top 13 in the 50 Breast with a time of 46.64.
