Renegades compete at the Coast Conference Kick Off at CSM
SAN MATEO - The Ohlone College swim team participated in the second meet of the 2025 season at the San Mateo Coast Conference Kickoff meet on Friday February 21st
Highlights from the meet include swims from the Men's 200 medley relay, Women's 200 free relay and from freshman swimmers Dominic LuVisi and Michelle Para Chavarria
200 Men's medley relay once again got first place with a final time of 1:39.59 , dropping 6 seconds off their seed time. The relay started with freshman Ryin Ruaboro swimming a 24.99 split for backstroke, followed by freshman Ray Cillo swimming a 26.87 split for breast stroke, followed by sophomore Moataz Bayoumi swimming at 25.26 split for fly and anchored by freshman Alexander Torjyan with a split of 22.47.
200 Woman's free relay finished first for their heat with a final time of 2:11.75 The relay started with freshman Michelle Para Chavarria swimming a split of 39.47, second leg was swam by freshman Brooklyn Sisk with a split of 33.10, third leg was swam by freshman Angeline Ho with a split of 30.16 and anchored by sophomore Teagan Rees with a split of 29.02 out-touching DeAnza by half a second.
Dominic LuVisi made his debut swim for the Men's swim team, swimming 50 free with a final time of 37.30, dropping almost 23 seconds off his seed time. He also swam 100 free with a final time of 1:29.92, dropping a minute off his seed time.
Freshman Michelle Para Chavarria swam in both relays, swimming breast in the women's 200 medley relay with a split of 53.70. She also swam two individual races, participating in 50 free with a final time of 40.74 dropping a second off her seed time, and the 100 breast with a final time of 1:55.16 placing her in the top 20.
