Swimming Career

Victor learned to swim in Irvington High School’s pool, located in Fremont and began swimming at age 7. Victor was a recreational swimmer on multiple teams within the East Bay Swim League. Throughout high school at Mission San Jose, Victor qualified for NCS, as well as earning League Champion in events within the MVAL. After graduating from Mission San Jose High, Victor attended college here at Ohlone in 1994, with Coach Jack Croghan. At Ohlone, Victor continued to swim and play water polo while earning his AA degree, and still swims with USA Master's, qualifying for National Championships in Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, and IM within his age group.

  • 1992 - 1995  (4 seasons as an Assistant Coach of the Mission Valley Barracudas Swim Team)
  • 1995 - 1998  (4 seasons as Varsity Coach of Irvington High School Swim Team)
  • 1996 - 2016  (21 seasons as the Head Coach of the Warm Springs Gators Swim Team)
     
Victor brings over 25 seasons of coaching experience to Ohlone's Program, and in his first year assisting, the Program saw Victor's impact immediately, helping over 90% of the team reach personal best times in the 2019 season. 
 
Background
 
Currently, Victor is a local Physical Education Teacher within the Fremont Unified School District. He helped raise two daughters, who attended Ohlone as well, earning team records and qualifying for CCCAA State Championships for the Renegades. Both daughters went on to earn their education from UC Davis and UCLA.
