Renegades qualify for NorCal Regionals 2nd year in a row, send 4 to All-Conference Team

The Ohlone Renegades wrapped up their 2019 Season as one of the top programs in Northern California, earning key wins throughout the season over American River, San Diego Mesa, and Modesto. The Renegades finished with a top 3 place in Conference and a top 6 ranking throughout all of Northern California.

Prior to last season, Ohlone hadn't qualified for NorCal Regionals since 2004. After qualifying for the 2nd year in a row, Coach Youhanna said, "It's about the culture and student-athletes we're developing. We've recently had a wave of incoming student-athletes who want the best for not only themselves, but their teammates too. They come to practice everyday, willing to work to the best of their abilities, and have fun. As a coaching staff, we're extremely happy to see their hard work pay off. They deserve it."

This year, 4 Renegades were named to the Coast's All-Conference Team. Sophomores Aiden McBride and Nathan Clark were named back to the Team for their 2nd consecutive season, while Freshman Matthew Mendez and Shane Herup also earned All-Coast Conference Honors.

More importantly, the cumulative GPA amongst the 4 mentioned above stands at a 3.75. When asked about their success in the classroom, Youhanna went on to say, "It's wonderful they're putting themselves in a position to succeed academically. Although we're an intercollegiate athletic program, academics come first. I'm extremely excited for what the future holds for all these young men."

The Renegades' future looks bright with back-to-back NorCal Regional appearances, and aim to be back for their third year in a row next season. Although they'll graduate McBride and Clark, Ohlone will look to returning Sophomores, Mendez and Herup, to lead the Renegades in the water next year.
